slacking again
I just realized that I started slacking on my blogging again. I didn't feel bad when I was at home because I was more concerned with spending as much time with my kids as possible, but now that I am back to work I should have no excuse not to post here.
Things are pretty good. Elizabeth is getting bigger and cuter by the day. She has been flashing us her pretty smile for the last two weeks. I love her smile! It just melts my heart and makes my eyes get all teary. Evan and Gabby are still in love with their new baby sister which makes me very happy. I have some newer pictures of the kids which I will post here when I get the chance.
Evan is doing great in school. He's had nearly straight A's all year and I am very proud of him for that. I can't believe he will be in Junior High School next year! Gabby thinks she rules the world... but what 2.5 year old doesn't? If her attitude now is any indication of what her teenage years will be like we are in some serious trouble! lol.

much better
Last night was much better. Elizabeth went to bed a little after midnight (in her bed) and didn't wake to eat until 4:30 this morning. I pulled her in bed with me to nurse her and we fell asleep and didn't wake again until 7. I feel so much better today. Another great thing... it's almost the end of the week and we have a beautiful weekend ahead of us. It's supposed to be 80 degrees this weekend. Wahoo!

day three
I would love to do a Wordless Wednesday since I haven't in so long, but since my camera is being repaired I don't have any new pictures.
I feel like I am in hell right now. Elizabeth was sleeping so good during the night while I was at home, but since my return to work she has not had an easy time. I don't know if it's because she is trying to make up for the time that I am not there during the day or what, but she is refusing to sleep in her bed and only wants to sleep when I am nursing her. I didn't even get to sleep until 4:30 this morning and had to get up three hours later. I don't know how I will make it through this day! I know this is an adjustment period and it will pass, but it is very difficult. I hope she adapts to our new schedule quickly.

day two
Well, it's my 2nd day back at work and it went much better. No crying this morning or when I left the house. I'm already feeling like I'm back to my old routine. It's amazing how quickly things fall back into place.

Elizabeth's stats
I forgot to update Elizabeth's stats.
03/05/09 (at birth) 7 lbs 9 ounces, 19.5 inches long
03/09/09 (4 days old) 7 lbs 2 ounces, 19.5 inches long and her head was 33.5 cm's
03/19/09 (2 weeks old) 7 lbs 3 ounces, 20 1/4 inches long, head is 35.5 cm's
04/09/09 (5 weeks) 7 lbs 10 ounces, 21.5 inches long, head is 36 cm's
04/16/09 (6 weeks) 8 lbs 5 ounces - only went in for a weight check because she was gaining slowly, but she is catching up now. 11 ounces in one week!
I would post a current picture, but my camera decided to stop working so it has to be sent back to the manufacturer to be replaced. I hate not having a camera! I'm going to have to pull out my older camera and get some actual batteries to put in it until I get mine back.

first day back
Today was my first day back to work. It wasn't easy leaving my little peanut. I started crying as I nursed her this morning before I had to leave. I didn't want to cry, but I just couldn't stop the tears. Gabby is so sweet. She said, "mommy.. why are you crying? Don't cry." Daddy told her I was going to miss them. She said, "It's OK, mama.. don't cry." Of course that made me cry even more.
It hasn't been a bad first day back. I haven't had to do any real work. They gave me the day to get caught up. I had 700 emails to sort through and other things to take care of to get back up to speed so it's been a fairly relaxing day. I got to go home at lunch and nurse the baby so that was good. I didn't want to put her down to leave again, but it was easier than this morning. I didn't cry on my way back to work as I did on my way to work this morning. I'm sure it will get easier as time goes by. And now I only have 45 minutes left until I head home. In an hour I will be a happy woman once again - until tomorrow morning. =)

too soon
I can't believe I have to go back to work on Monday. I can't even describe how depressing it is to give birth to a baby, bond with the baby and then have to leave the baby all day while you go to work only six weeks later. It's a feeling only a mother could understand. It sucks that I have to spend my last two days feeling anxious about it too.

six weeks
Elizabeth is six weeks old today. Yep, that means I have to go back to work on Monday. Blah. I'm so not looking forward to it. I don't want to leave my baby all day. She went to the doctor's today just for a weight check because last week she only weighed 7 lbs 10 ounces (only an ounce more than her birth weight at 5 weeks old), but she is doing well. She weighed in at 8 lbs 5 ounces today at six weeks old so she gained 11 ounces since last week.

a good night
Elizabeth slept for 7 hours last night! Woo hoo!! She went to sleep early.. at 10:20 pm (she usually doesn't go down until around midnight) and we actually took advantage of it and went to sleep at the same time. She didn't wake up to eat until 5:30 this morning.

one month
Elizabeth is one month old as of yesterday. It's amazing how quickly time goes by once a baby is born. I already have to go back to work in 2 weeks. Here are a few pictures of my beautiful baby girl.

kisses from daddy...
