Yes, I have it. I have a viral infection that is wreaking havoc on me. I'm taking Musinex (over the counter) and a cough syrup with Codeine in it and 800 mg Motrin for all the aches and pains. I feel like I could pass out at my desk any minute. I took yesterday off because I could barely speak and was running a fever, but came into work today. Only an hour and a half left and I can go home and get some rest. I hope this is gone soon. I despise being sick. Well, I'm sure most people do. I don't know anyone who enjoys being ill, but I just thought I would throw that out there anyway.

Well, my daughter is doing much better today - no fever, her nose is all dried up so she is rarely sneezing, and she's in a much better mood. I, on the other hand, woke up this morning with a sore throat and a persistent cough. It's going to drive me crazy talking on the phone all day at work with a sore throat and cough. I think maybe I'm becoming immune to Zicam's effects or something. When I get home tonight, my plan is to take the cough syrup I have that contains Codeine and hopefully pass out.

I only made it about 45 minutes at work before having to come home. I am really feeling ill today. My head is killing me and my stomach is so upset. I couldn't even think straight when trying to assist customers. I hope this flu goes away soon! I am having a Partylite Candle party at my house on Saturday so it needs to be long gone by then. Cross your fingers for me.

My husband got sick after taking our daughter to the pediatrician's office last week. The doctor thought she had Roseola, a virus that starts with a high fever lasting a few days and then turns into a rash for a few more days. There's not a thing you can do for it except let it run it's course. It turns out she didn't have it and instead had a 24 hour viral bug, but now she has whatever my husband got and is on her way to being miserable. She woke up with a fever this morning and is coughing and sneezing. I'm sure she'll end up back at the doctor's office tomorrow. I just took some Zicam in hopes that I can fight it off before it fully hits me. I'm sneezing and have a little cough, but no fever. Keep your fingers crossed that I can escape without the plague.

My poor kids are sick. Evan is coughing and sneezing like crazy, but he has no fever. We've just been giving him over the counter medication because you can't take a kid to the doctor with a cold. They'll just tell us he has a cold and charge us for nothing. Gabby, on the other hand, woke up with a fever of 102 at 4am this morning. She has no other symptoms at all. No coughing, no sneezing, nothing but a fever. We gave her Motrin and she went back to sleep around 6am. Then she woke up at 8:30 am and her fever was already back full force. She's at the pediatrician's office now with Jeremy. They're going to prick her finger to see what's going on and she is going to lose her mind. I have to say, I am glad I am at work because I hate seeing her so upset at the doctor's office.

I feel about the same as I did yesterday. It hasn't gotten worse so that's a good sign. My poor daughter was sick today though. She woke up from a short nap early this afternoon and starting vomiting everywhere. After about an hour of dry heaving - after she first got everything out of her system - she passed out in my lap for half an hour and woke up fine. I always feel so bad when she gets sick because she is so little, but she always bounces back quickly. If that had been me, I would have been down for the day. I'm hoping that I don't get whatever she had because I have to report for jury duty at 8:30 tomorrow morning. It would really suck to have to drive to downtown Detroit (a place I never go unless forced) with a stomach bug as my companion.

I am home again today with my super red nose and hacking cough. I feel horrible that I'm not at work (sort of), but I can't concentrate at work when I feel this horrible. I got absolutely no sleep last night. I'm thinking my inability to sleep is due to the steroid my doctor put me on for my bronchitis. That's the only thing that I can think of because the other meds I am on are all supposed to make me drowsy, but that didn't happen. The funny thing is that after just going to sleep a couple of hours ago, I don't feel tired. I'm going to have to try and get some sleep tonight so I can go back to work tomorrow.

I went to the doctor's office today and found out that I have a sinus infection and bronchitis. Isn't that just great? He wrote me off work for the rest of the week, but I am going to try to get as much rest as possible and head back to the office by Friday. I really hate being sick.
I just did something I swore I would never do. I used a saline sinus rinse. I filled up a bottle with warm water and put this packet of sodium chloride/sodium carbonate in it then leaned over the sink and squirted it up one side of my nose and it came out the other side. Then I blew my nose and did the other side. It felt SO WEIRD, but my nose feels so much better. It's amazing the things one will do to get some relief.

I hate being sick. My nose and sinus passages hurt so bad I can't even sleep. I've just taken my 2nd dose of NyQuil and now I am just praying that I will pass out soon. Between this illness and the problems I am having with my new host, I feel like I'm living in a nightmare. I don't understand why I keep having the same problems over and over with this site. It worked fine with my old host so what is the freaking problem now? They keep telling me that the permissions were set incorrectly and that they've been fixed, but every time I add a new entry it has to be fixed again! Arrgh!! Just fix it already!!! I've already made it up to the 3rd level of support with these people. How much higher do I have to go? And, could it get any hotter around here? It's nearly midnight and it's still 80 degrees outside. Am I living in hell? Ignore me if I seem to be rambling.. the NyQuil may have taken over at this point.
... update... of course, now that I've added this entry... every link that has to do with this entry is completely fucked and I get the 500 internal server error when I click on comments, the time - which is the direct link to this entry, and my July 2007 archives - which was already fixed yesterday. I'm SO FUCKING irritated now! Why can't they fix this problem? Why does this happen every time I post a new entry??

Now everyone is sick. Well, Evan isn't and with him just finishing his antibiotic I doubt he will get it back, but Jeremy has been sick since the night before last and I woke up this morning with a sore throat and feeling like total crap. Fun.

Evan is sick. Jeremy took him to the doctors yesterday morning because the night before he had a fever of 103. Prior to that we thought he simply had a cold. Well, anyone knows once the fever hits, it's time for a doctor visit. So, Jeremy calls me from the doctors office yesterday to let me know that they are doing chest xrays because the doctor thinks he might have pneumonia! Once the xrays came back the doctor determined that he did not have it, but said that he is on the edge. He said if we would have waited another day, he most likely would have ended up in the hospital this weekend. My poor little guy! Now he is on three different medications - all which he hates because they are liquid. He is still sleeping and it's almost eleven. He NEVER sleeps this long. I did have to get him up in the middle of the night because he was coughing so much in his sleep. I gave him a drink and some cough suppressant so he could get some decent rest. I'm sure that, and the fact that he is so sick, is reason enough for him sleeping so long. I feel so bad for him. I hate when my kids are ill.

I woke up yesterday with the stomach flu. Yuck. It's been a long time since I've had that. It is such a horrible thing to deal with. Jeremy had to come home from work and take care of the baby. There was no way I could take care of her from the bathroom. I'm feeling better today. I still can't eat anything, but I have been able to sip on some 7up. I really hope that neither one of the kids gets it - especially the baby. At least Evan is old enough to understand and be able to deal with it. Don't get me wrong. I don't wish for either of my kids to get it, but I just don't think I could stand to watch the baby go through something like that!

So, me and the kids are sick with a cold today. Evan stayed home from school today. The poor kid lost his voice. He claims his throat doesn't hurt, but he could only whisper this morning because when he talked, nothing came out. I have sinus problems and the baby is very congested. I called the pediatrician to see if it had anything to do with her tooth coming in. She said no, it's probably just a cold. She said to use saline drops for her nose and suction it out or use Pediacare Infant drops. Jeremy is off work today so we are all just lying around, watching tv and sharing germs.

I went to bed this past Sunday feeling dandy. I woke up on Monday morning with a sore throat and by lunch was complaining to one of my co-workers that I felt as if I had a fever and could very well fall asleep at my desk. I made it until two o'clock and decided I'd had enough. I drove home - trying not to kill myself - and took my temperature as soon as I walked in the door. As I had suspected, I had a fever of 101 degrees. Fun times. I took two Nyquil Liquigels and passed out until 8 AM on Tuesday. I did manage to open an eye once or twice when Jeremy came in to check on me during the evening.
Tuesday morning I called work and advised them I would not be in. Then I slept another two hours before callling my doctor - only to find out that she had left town for a family emergency and there would be no replacement until Thursday. Hmm? Why bother answering the phone then, eh? Fuckers. I had no choice but to visit the local "MedStop" as a "new patient." Again, fun times. Jeremy drove my unshowered, pajama-wearing ass there and within a handful of minutes I was being seen by the doctor. From what I remember, it's highly unusual to be seen within the first couple of hours when going to a walk-in clinic. So far, so good.
The doctor walked into the exam room, asked a few questions, gave me a shot of something in my ass, wrote me a prescription and sent me on my way. Yes, I did say "a shot in my ass." I can't remember the last time that happened. Doctors don't normally volunteer to give you a shot of anything. They normally just write a prescription and tell you that all should be well in 3 days.
Yesterday, after taking the antibiotic, that I have never taken before, for two consecutive days I realized that I could not stop itching for anything. I felt as though I had poison ivy or chicken pox or something. It has been driving me mad! It took me forever to fall asleep last night because I could NOT STOP ITCHING.
I went back to the doctor this afternoon and advised him that I thought I might be having an allergic reaction. He happily gave me ANOTHER shot in my ass, wrote me a new prescription and charged me for another office visit. WTF? This time the shot hurt. It was some kind of steroid to stop the itching. It hurt like a bitch. And I think it upset my stomach. Hopefully that is the last visit I will need to make to the shot-happy doctor.
Helluva week I'm having, eh?
