I just took my oldest son to get his tongue pierced. He's been asking me for a while now and I figured I would do something cool for him. He'll be eighteen in a few months anyway and then he would just go get it done on his own. I feel better knowing I took him to a place that I know is clean and trustworthy. He did really good. Not even a flinch. He drooled a lot while she was putting the barbell in, but everyone does. It made me want to get my tongue pierced again, but I fought the urge and remained the responsible mom. Besides, I took mine out on Good Friday nearly three years ago as a sacrificial offering to God, if you will, just before I became Catholic. It felt like a good thing to do at the time. I can't exactly go back on that.
