I bought Gabby some Gerber Finger Foods Puffs. They are like dry cereal (Cheerios), but dissolve much quicker so it's a lot safer for babies that are just learning to eat finger foods. They come in a variety of flavors such as peach, banana, sweet potato, corn, strawberry banana and apple cinnamon. She is really digging them! She hasn't quite figured out how to get them in her mouth every time, but she's starting to get the hang of it.
I am so excited about the latest skin that Mel designed for this site. Each time I hire Emtwo Web Studios to redesign my site I am more thrilled with the results. She is such an awesome person and a brilliant web designer. It's gotten to the point where I don't even have to tell her much anymore. I just show her an image I like and let her run with it. She has never disappointed me. So.... keep your eyes peeled for a new, fabulous look coming soon to Neptunebaby Dot Com.
It's Friday!! I'm so glad the weekend is here. As much complaining as I've done this week, it's actually gone by pretty fast. I guess that's what happens when you start going to bed between 7 and 8 o'clock every night. I stayed up pretty late last night - 9pm. As far as I know, Gabby slept pretty good. Or perhaps I was just so tired that I didn't hear Jeremy get up with her. Anyway, I slept better than I have all week.
I went to bed at quarter past seven last night and I still feel like I got no sleep. Gabrielle had a rough night last night. She has been waking up crying a lot. I think it's because her nose is stuffy and she can't breathe, but it could also be her teeth. I really have no idea though. She will fall asleep on me, but then wakes up crying when I put her in her crib. We all would have gotten enough sleep if only I could sleep on my back without moving at all. Anyway... I'm really happy it's almost Friday. I'm looking forward to sleeping in on Saturday morning.
Having a baby in day care is starting to suck. I love the place and Gabby has a good time, but she is once again sick with a cold because almost every kid in the place has a cold. Last night was no fun. She was up half the night because she was having problems with her nose running and not being able to breathe as she normally does. I might just have to go to bed soon after I get home from work tonight just to get a half way decent amount of sleep.
It's Monday once again. Ugh. I have a long week ahead at work. It's only 5:14am and I am already looking forward to getting home tonight. Heck, I'm already looking forward to the weekend!
One really great thing that I have to look forward to this week - Mel at EmtwoWebStudios is starting on the latest design for my website today. I can't wait to see how this one turns out!
On this day, one year ago, we found out that we were having a baby girl. It's hard to believe that she has been here for over 7 months already. And isn't she just the cutest little princess in the world?
Gabrielle is staying home with Jeremy today. She didn't sleep much last night and neither did anyone else. I feel so bad for her. I just don't know what to do to help her through this. I don't see any point in sending her to daycare when she obviously needs a bit of extra attention. Besides, all four babies that are in her room at daycare are teething so one less today will probably make Ms. Becky's day a little easier.
I can tell you that I'll probably be in bed very shortly after getting home from work today also. I'm SO TIRED.
My poor little girl is teething and she is absolutely miserable. Giving her Tylenol doesn't help one bit either. She hasn't been sleeping well at all. What I don't understand is why she wasn't cranky when her bottom two teeth were coming through. They are already through the gums and 1/2 way in so why is she miserable now? You'd think that she'd be in the most pain while they are breaking through the gums. I don't see any other teeth coming in at this time. I guess it's a mystery.
My son, Evan, is just too funny. Last night I put him to bed at nine o'clock. At quarter past nine he comes out of his room with a sock in his hand and says, "I'm sorry. I found a sock that needs to go in the dirty clothes basket." How would he find a sock on his floor when he's supposed to be in bed sleeping? I can't get him to clean his room half way decently during the day, but apparently if he doesn't want to go to sleep he'll do just about anything.
I've been slacking in the picture posting department lately. Here are the pictures of Gabrielle that I meant to post a week ago. She is seven months old now. What a big girl!
We had a "girls night out" last night. My mom, my sister, my niece and I went to the movie theater to see Knocked Up. I had only seen a couple of quick previews for this movie and had no idea it wasn't simply a chick flick. It was like going to see Clerks II with my mother. There was a lot of swearing, nudity, drug use and down right crudeness. The funny thing is she wasn't offended and was laughing through most of it. We had a good time. It was nice getting out of the house with the girls.
In case you missed Justin Verlander's no hitter last night, check it out. It was so exciting! It's the first time a Detroit Tigers pitcher has thrown a no hitter since 1984. And.. it's the first no hitter in Comerica Park.
My adorable little girl, at just 7 months old, started playing pat-a-cake today. If you say pat-a-cake she will actually clap her hands together. What a smart little cookie she is. She also recently started blowing spit bubbles. She will blow a raspberry to wet her lips and then she puts her lips together and says mama really slow so she can blow bubbles. It's so cute!
As I mentioned a couple of weeks ago, Gabrielle has a bottom tooth coming in. It's about a quarter of the way through now and you can actually see it when she smiles. Well, now the one next to it is coming through also. I would say in the next couple of weeks she will have two bottom teeth to show off in her pictures. She's growing up way too fast.
Jeremy and I are now addicted to a new television show called Traveler. I set it to DVR and then sort of forgot about it. It just started last month and we had 3 episodes recorded so we sat down to watch them last night. Oh my gosh it is so good. Now we can't wait until Wednesday night so we can see the next episode. Yeah, we're addicted. It's a good thing too because with all of our other shows being over for the summer we have something new to watch.
Is it Friday yet? I am so tired. I have so much going on with work, the baby and Evan's baseball games. Summer is such a busy time for us. I am really looking forward to the weekend.
Gabrielle is 7 months old today and still not sleeping through the night. In fact, the last couple of nights have been just as eventful as when we first brought her home from the hospital. I don't know if it's because she's sleeping in her crib now or what, but she is up every hour to two hours. Needless to say I'm tired.
I'm in the process of having Mel work on a new design for this site. It's always so difficult for me to decide exactly what I want. There are so many options. I have been searching the internet for hours today. I think I need to take a little break.
