getting closer

I found out today, from an inside source, that my annulments have gotten the final approval from the Tribunal in Grand Rapids and the decision has been sent back to the Archdiocese of Detroit. Now we just need them to send the annulment decrees so we can set the date for our wedding! I'm wondering if there is any way we can have our priest look into it and get it expedited or perhaps let us set the date now (we are shooting for September 23rd) since all we are waiting for is paperwork. Regardless, we are one step closer to getting married. We're so excited!

same time, same place

Again it is after one-thirty in the morning and here I am.... not sleeping. I have no idea what my problem has been lately. I had no problem taking a nap this afternoon, but when it's actually time to go to sleep for the night I can't do it. Well, I have to try. Here I go...

good times

I don't think I will ever sleep well again. It's after one-thirty in the morning and I have been tossing and turning for hours now! It doesn't help that Jeremy has been taking up the entire bed and stealing all of the covers. I guess I will try to sleep on the couch for a bit before he leaves for work at four. Yeah, right. I have heartburn, the baby won't stop kicking me (because she rarely sleeps) and I can't get comfortable.

At least the Tigers won.

pregnant = crazy

I am a total mess. Hormones are evil.

I feel like crap half the time because I'm always on Evan to make good decisions - something he's not been doing since I had the doctor switch his medication. Now I want to tell his doctor to switch it back and he's probably going to think I'm crazy (see next paragraph regarding indecisiveness). I feel horrible because I totally snapped at Evan this afternoon and made him feel bad and start crying - which has had me crying all evening just thinking about how I behaved.

Besides that.. I am now indecisive woman. I can't make a decision and stick to it. And even when I do I feel like a made a mistake or that I'm doing something wrong. I deleted my entire baby registry at Babies R Us and started a new one at Target because the items are less expensive there. Then I changed my mind about the crib bedding about a thousand times and I'm still not happy. And it doesn't even matter because I'm NOT having a shower! So why am I making myself nuts?

I also can't seem to make myself go to work very often these days. I have medical leave days available and use them like they're going out of style. I know I should go to work, but I hate my job, can't stand most of the people there or the one's I have to deal with on the phone, and I really like being at home with Evan. Of course, Jeremy has no problem with me staying home and tells me to stay home whenever I feel like it. Well, that makes it really easy for me to do just that... all the time... and then I feel really guilty for not going. But then I wake up the next day and decide to stay home again!

I'm pregnant which apparently means I am crazy.

flickr

I finally broke down and opened a Flickr account to store and share my photos. It's all my sister's fault. *grin* There's a link to my flickr photo page under "navigate" on my side bar. I only have a few in there so far, but it's a start.

proud mom

We got Evan's baseball pictures back yesterday. Look at how great his picture is! He's come a long way in these last three years of I-League (instructional league) baseball. Next year he will move up to a new division - Juniors. I'm so proud of him.

Evan's 2006 baseball picture

And here is his baseball picture from last year.

Evan's 2005 baseball picture

I can't remember where his 2004 pictures are at the moment, but when I find it I will post it here also.

another evening

Have you ever seen An Evening with Kevin Smith? It's absolutely hilarious. You'd have to be a fan to really appreciate it though. My brother was over last week and saw my copy. He asked if it was stand-up. I asked him if he's ever seen Clerks, Mallrats, Chasing Amy or even Dogma. He answered NO to all. Geez, how does one get through life without seeing these movies? I said, "Then no, it's not stand-up. You wouldn't understand." He might find it amusing, but not to the fullest extent. In my opinion, it would be a wasted experience without knowing the history.

Well, now there is a second installment - An Evening with Kevin Smith II - Evening Harder due out in November. I am so stoked. I can't wait to get my hands on a copy.

portman

I was on a search for new desktops and found this. I think it's a great photo of Natalie Portman.

who's your tiger?

Evan spent the night at a friends house tonight - unexpectedly. His friend spent the majority of the day at our house and when his mom came to pick him up she said Evan could spend the night at her house. Cool. I would never argue with that.

Jeremy and I sat down in front of the television promptly at 7:05 PM to watch the Tigers game. Just a few pitches into the first inning I looked at Jeremy and said, "Hey.. let's go to the game!" And that is exactly what we did. We got to our seats by the top of the 3rd inning and had a blast.

I can't believe that Clerks II is coming out this month. I have to see it, of course. I'm a Kevin Smith fan. Anyone else?

proud to be an american

The American League just won the All-Star game! It was pretty "iffy" with a National League lead of 2-1 up until the top of the 9th inning when we scored two runs and passed them by one. Great defense at the bottom of the ninth sealed our 3-2 victory.

so close.. so far

You know.. I should have just started a "baby blog" because that seems to be all I talk about lately. Well, in my own defense, when you're pregnant it's difficult to concentrate on anything else.

In some ways it seems like our baby girl will be here so soon. I do a lot of reading about pregnancy on a daily basis and recently everything says, "now that you're 23 weeks pregnant you're body is starting to prepare for labor, etc." and that makes me feel like she will be here before we know it!

Then again.. approximately 17 more weeks of not sleeping well, heartburn, aches and pain, pokes, jabs and kicks, and other things I won't even discuss here.. blah. Could she just get here already? I realize that once she gets here I still won't be sleeping well, but at least it won't be because I'm so uncomfortable. Maybe that's why the last half of pregnancy is so uncomfortable... to condition moms not to be able to sleep for more than an hour or two at a time.

cute, pink and girly

I have added a few more things to our baby registry. As I've said in the past, we are not having a baby shower, but I just can't help myself. It's so much fun to pick out things that we like for the baby. If you're interested in taking a peek at all the cute, pink, girly stuff we have put on the list.. I added a link on my side bar. You can't miss it.. it's the only pink link up there! *grin* You need the registry number once you get to the page because unfortunately they don't provide a direct link to our registry. Let me know what you think.

a thing of the past

I'm beginning to notice a pattern here. The further along in this pregnancy, the less sleep I get each night. Every time I roll from one side to the other during the night, I wake up and look at the clock. And it seems like the baby is awake too - kicking or stretching or has the hiccups. I swear this baby never sleeps. She is so active all day and all night. So.. anyway, then Jeremy's alarm went off at 4am and I have been awake ever since. I tried to lay back down at about twenty minutes past five, but after thirty minutes of trying to fall asleep I realized that I was hungry. So, I just finished a bowl of cereal and would like to go back to sleep until Evan wakes up, but it's not looking too promising. I am AWAKE and, of course, so is the baby. I think sleeping through the night has become a thing of the past.

finally

So, we have finally decided to "go public" with the results of our ultrasound from two weeks ago. Wow, it's only been two weeks? It seems like so much longer.

Anyway.. in approximately four months we will be welcoming our daughter, Gabrielle Isabella, into the world! The doctor said she looks absolutely perfect. We couldn't be any happier.

And, yes... I had to change my desktop for the big announcement. Nothing special.. it was the only one I could find at the moment. I'm not posting it in the entry, but I did update my sidebar.

the down side

I've been in bed with a migraine since Tuesday night. This is definitely the down side to being pregnant. Normally I have medication that helps me through, but I can't take it during pregnancy. I also can't take the Tylenol 3's they prescribed because they make me royally sick. All I can do is stay in bed and wait for it to pass.

event of the summer

I really want to see Dashboard Confessional w/Say Anything and Ben Lee in Ann Arbor next month. I knew tickets went on sale, but for some reason didn't think they would be sold out already. Well, they are. I looked on eBay to see what was available. The cheapest is $220 for two tickets. Damn it!

family fun

We have had a fantastic weekend! Jeremy, Evan and I went to my sister's house yesterday evening and had great food, great conversation and a wonderful time hanging out watching fireworks after dark. We didn't get home until after 11pm - something very unusual for us lately. It was great spending time with the family and celebrating the holiday.

Today the three of us went to CJ Barrymore's. We had a blast!! We started out with the indoor driving range which confirmed the fact that I REALLY want to start golfing. After an hour or so of that we headed over to the batting cages - which, unfortunately, wasn't a very good experience. Evan isn't ready for that yet. The balls are pitched much faster than in his league. He was standing too close to the plate and got hit in the hand with a ball at 45 mph. He dropped to the ground and cried for a good five minutes. I was afraid he broke his hand, but luckily it turned out to be just a minor injury. Once that fiasco was over with we moved over to ride the go-karts . Well, Jeremy and Evan did. Me and "Baby G" sat on the bleachers and cheered them on. *grin* Then we took refuge in the air conditioned bar, ate some pretty good food and watched the last couple of innings of the Tigers game - which we won! After filling our bellies we went to the arcade and spent the 112 game tokens we purchased. We grabbed some ice cream on our way out and headed back home. We are quite exhausted, but it was a wonderful way to spend the day.

registry

We now have a great beginning to our baby registry. I know that I am not having a baby shower, but it was a lot of fun setting it up online and picking out different things that I want. If anything, it will help me keep track of the things that I want to buy in the next couple of months - like a shopping list. I'm absolutely in love with the nursery theme I picked out, but if I bought everything all together - the 6 piece crib set, lamp shade, diaper holder, pillow, light switch cover, etc... VERY expensive. Well, like I said.. it was a great deal of fun picking it all out.

weekend

Well, I made it through the entire week, including four hours today, at work. I'm glad it's the weekend. Although, I have to work on Monday which totally sucks. I want a three day weekend like most everyone else, but no.. I get tomorrow off, work Monday and have Tuesday off. Whatever. Anyway, I will enjoy the time I do get away from that place.
